My name is Veronica Lalime and I was born in Haiti. My mother, father, little sister, and I moved to Tampa when I was two years old. I began school at St. Peter Claver school and then went on to Tampa Catholic High School. Some of my hobbies are reading, drawing, singing, and hanging out with friends. I originally had plans to attend the University of South Florida but in the long run I changed my mind. I have decided to start off by being a Registered Nurse and work my way up to being a Pediatrician. I have two reasons for taking this course. The first reason is that it was my first choice as an alternative to English Composition. The second reason is that I took Humanities Honors in high school and I was really fascinated by it. I love art, literature, and music. This course just broadens my views of these subjects.
I am Joshua Jinkerson. I have lived in Brandon my whole life. I have one sister, four step-sisters, and one step-brother. My parents divorced when I was about seven or eight. They both eventually got remarried. My favorite kind of is movie posters because of how they manage to capture the entire movie in one image. I am going to school for an AA in Graphic Design that I will turn into a BA at a University.
Hi Ms. Hoffman, my name is Alexandra (Alix) Blizzard and I have never lived in one single city for more then three years. My parents recently moved my younger brother and I to Lithia from Valrico in order to have land for our two show horse's, Yankee and Lena. Riding horse's is a new hobby of mine and it helps me to relax after a long day of school or babysitting. I'm not sure yet as to what I want to major in so for now I am working on my AA in Liberal Arts. I have always had a passion to learn more about our world history, and because of this I have decided to take your course to learn more about the history of art. I will be honest and say that I do not know a lot about art, but after looking through our required classroom book, "A World of Art" I found that I really enjoy the seventeenth-century French classical style of paintings. My hobbies are playing basketball occasionally ( I played for high school all four years. I also like reading pretty much anything I can get my hands on. Hello. My name is David J. Hoeksema and I am working towards my teaching degree. I have lived in Tampa for about eight years now. I moved from Seattle but have lived in many different places including: Spain, Germany, New York, Washington, and Michigan. The only art I really don't enjoy seems to be today's art. If you like Bernini, I would say stop in at Bernini's in Ybor. Great restaurant and has some of his replicas like Apollo and Daphne. Just found the place this last weekend! Has great desserts!! Hi, my name is Christina Newhart and I am in your Monday afternoon class at 3:30PM. I am attending HCC to optain my Hospitality and Tourism Management degree and then transfer to USF for a degree in Psychology. My plans after college are moving to North Carolina and opening my own restaurant. I enjoy listening to music and learning new things, my favorite type of art would probably be surrealism. I just recently visited the Salvador Dali Museum in St. Pete, the paintings there were quite incredible. I am very excited to see what this class is all about and learn a little about art!

My name is Kelcey and I was born here in Florida. I grew up on Anna Maria Island and just moved to Brandon about 2 months ago. I have 2 older brothers and 2 older sisters. I am a nanny and I also work at Oldnavy a few times a month. I love going to the beach, the gym, and shopping which pretty much fills up all of my free time. I am majoring in Elementary Education and I want to teach 3rd grade. I don't know much about art except that I am completely horrible at it. I love abstract pieces and things that you have to look at for a while before understanding it and everyone sort of makes up their own interpretation. I also love photography and the many things that you can capture with a camera. But there also I'm not so good at it.. but I love doing it any way.

My name is Laura Meeks and I have lived in the same city, Dover, for my entire life. I graduated from Armwood High School a year early and wanted to get a head start on my career education. My goal is to get all of my required college classes finished then transfer to the University of South Florida to earn my teaching degree in Elementary Education. Hello, my name is Alison Wasylkiw. I am 19 years old and this is my second year at HCC. I am a military brat and have been everywhere. My favorite city was Sasebo, Japan. It was the greatest experience and I really believe that time in my life changed me forever. I am a better person and it helped me take a step back and look at the world from outside the "box". My name is Katie Ross. I was born and raised in Brandon, Florida. I live at home with my mom, dad, and one of two older brothers. I work monday through friday doing billing for a doctors office and go to school at night. I want to get my associates in bussiness administration at HCC then go onto USF for my bachlors. In what little spare time I have I like to hang out with my friends doing whatever we find fun for the day. I dont know much about art so I cant really say I have a favorite but I am looking forward to aquireing one.
My name is Kristina Wilson, I am 20 years old and I have lived in Tampa my entire life. My major is Graphic Design, but I am not sure it is going to stay that, I do know that whatever I do decide I will be an art major.
I love all kinds of art. I have danced most of my life (16 years to be exact) and I have used both dance and drawing as a form of expression. I have taken two drawing classes here at HCC and I have also taken a Humanities class. My interest in art goes beyond just appreciating a beautiful piece, I have a small background but I would love to be able to fully disect and understand art.
Some of my goals are to, after I graduate, spend a year backpacking around Europe and of course seeing all of the historical and cultural art, sculpture, and architecture of modern and old Europe. I hope to visit the Louvre, as well as St. Paul's Cathedral. I also want to join the Peace Corps, and maybe spend a year in Ameri-Corps, along with many more places. So as you can see I have an extensive interest in art and I hope that this class will be a stepping stone to helping me better understand the world around me.

I really hope to become a teacher when im done with college. Its been a great passion of mine since i was younger. I think one of the best feelings in the world is when you're teaching someone something and you see that light click on in their head when they get it, it's so fulfilling. My name is Ruth Anne Grimaldi. I am now living in Plant City. I have been here for about a year now. I am majoring in Photography. I would like to be a sports photographer. I worked at the newspaper in Sebring Florida as a sports photographer and ever since then I can not put the camera down. I am extremely interested in all types of photography. Hi my name is Sara Lampp. I am very forgetful. This is why my post is the night before class and not last week. I have a full school schedule this semester. I have been at HCC for 2 school years and Im hopeing that this year will be my last. I am going to school to major in Elementary Education. I want to be a second grade school teacher. I also have a work Monday thru Friday at a daycare. I work about 25-30 hours a week. On the weekends I do homework, hang out with my boyfriend, and since I still live at home..family time is squeezed in too. Although I've never really ben into art, I do like history so I think I will enjoy the history behind the peices we discuss.

Hi! My name is Nicholas Yucha. Unfortunately I'm a born and raised floridian. After High School I went to HCC for a year until I left to go pursue other things in life. I recently enrolled back to HCC and after this semester I have only a few classes left to until I receive my A.A. in Business. After HCC I plan on attending USF where I can earn a bachelors in Marketing. My hobbies are golf and tennis,but I excel more in golf. While going to school full time I work at private golf and country club as an Assistant Golf Professional. This past summer I past my first level to enter into the PGA and look forward to advancing further into the program. My goal in a few years is to obtain my degree from USF and finish my certification for the PGA.
I enrolled in this class as an elective to finish my A.A. I never have taken a art class before, but am looking forward to brodening my horizons. I don't have a favorite type of art work, but by the end of the semester I hope I will.

About 3 years ago my family and I traveled to Florida, and so far moving to the south of America has been enlightening and fun because I enjoy new experiences. My name is Ronald, but I go by my middle name Ollie. I went to Wharton High School and graduated in 2007. This is my second year at HCC and I am going to transfer to USF and major in architecture. I have two sisters one being in medical school at USF and she is also my roommate. My other sister is married and living in North Carolina and just had her first child this past weekend. I love to play tennis and use to play completive. My tennis team for Wharton came in second in the state last year by 1 point and won states this past year. I am very outgoing and love to play video games, on Xbox live. I also work at cold stone and sing for tips even though I’m terrible at singing. I can actually draw very well and took a couple of art classes in High School and I am looking forward to seeing what i will learn in this class.

I was raised in Oklahoma for the majority of my life, so I'm a country boy. Im white, cant you tell, and I'm 5 foot 8, Im pretty cool I'd like to think and Im usually not quite, I love almost every range of genre in music, and audio visual media projects, aka movies. My goal in the future is to become an animator and owner of my own studio, on sketch and computer work. I am very passionate about opera, and i have been for some time now. I've been seen as "gifted" all through out elementary, middle and high school. I graduated this year at 17 years old. I am in school now to get my AA in Music. Im quite partial to baroque music, so i would assume that i like art from the baroque period the most. Im so excited for this course.

Hey! My name is Fairfax, It's a very weird name fit for a weird chick like myself. It's my first name, a family name. I am actually Fairfax the 6th generation. Which, I hate! It's always a huge conversation starter and it's not that I mind it but it's so repetitive when everyone says "Whaaa?" or "Fair-what?" when I say my name. Anyway, I've been born and raised in Temple Terrace, Fl. I went to King High School. I'd like to say I'm pretty mature for my age only because of what I've gone through...well I wouldn't say I'm too mature (because I'm quite goofy at most times) but I'd like to say I know quite a bit about life... and death.The main question I wanna know about living on this strange earth is "What is our purpose for living?" My name is Bryant Denova. I was born in Houston, Texas in 1991. My family is from Mexico but all of my brothers were born also in the United States. I live in Seffner for the past 5 years. I was graduated from Armwood High Shool in 2008, this year. I love to play soccer, listen music, and watch movies, specially the James Bond films. Also, I played soccer for the Armwood High School team, which unfortunately we didn't make it for the final. I came to college to have an opportunity to become an arquitect. I've always wanted to become an arquitect since I was a little kid. I love to hear the works that my Gotfather accomplished as an arquitect. In this class, I'm interested in the arquitectural art to learn about the arquitecture that was before. Also I want to understand the concepts of arquitecture combined with different art such a painting or sculpures.
